Own the Interview - Professional Development program

If you have interviews coming up... you're heading into battle with a war-hardened foe.  Even if you get the job... the odds are stacked against you winning salary negotiations.

Most people don't prepare anywhere near well enough, then arrive anxiously, with no real strategy!

Fortunately, You CAN Tilt Everything In Your Favor.

And if your future employer knew you were reading this page... they should be worried.  Very worried.

Dear Interviewee,

When companies look to hire you, whether for employment or contract work, they will virtually always interview many others, before they make any hiring decisions.

The Interview "Deck" is
Stacked Against You.

Most interviewers you may face will have interviewed applicants frequently in their careers. And even if they interview infrequently, when it comes time to interview applicants, they'll usually interview many at a time.

Odds are high that they hold far more interviews than you attend.

Odds are also high that they have a lot more information about you, than you have about them.

And they do hold the purse strings.

So clearly they have certain perceived advantages.

Also, no matter how much is riding on them making a good decision, they're probably feeling a lot more secure about your interview than you are.

To make matters worse, they are not on your side.  Until you sign an offer letter or an employment contract, they are not on your side, and you are not on theirs.

Interviews are War with a
Handshake.  Who Surrenders?

Your interview is not a casual get-together, even if they're friendly and would like you to feel comfortable.  It's not a simple chat over coffee.  It's a negotiation of the terms of Surrender and Agreement.

Yes, that negotiation has a "getting to know you" phase, and a "let's see what each person brings to the table" phase, and if all goes well, a phase where each party figures out what they're willing and able to surrender to the other.

And they're not on your side, and you're not on their side, until after the signature happens.

Their interviewer is likely both experienced and savvy at running these war negotiations.

The question is...

How prepared and experienced
are you for your interview?

Could you stand to learn more about how to do well, before you go?

How much preparation would be useful, for you to be confident you'd do even reasonably well?

Are you asking for help from friends and family -- where the chances are good that while they love you and care about your success, none of them are experienced at giving world-class interview advice?

What if you could not just do reasonably well, but OWN it?  What if you could take your interview by storm?

What if... you could make it so that your interviewer would have been woefully unprepared for you?

Wouldn't that help you maximize your chances of getting everything realistic you wanted out of it (and maybe more)?

I can help you ACE
your upcoming interviews!

This audio program deeply explores how best to use NLP to maximize your chances of acing your interviews and getting highly desirable offers.

So, why should you listen to any of my coaching advice?  What makes me a knowledgeable expert on this?

For starters, I'm a very experienced NLP Coach, Trainer and Master Practitioner.  For more than twenty years, I've done Interview Coaching and other business and personal coaching for many people -- professionals, managers, and executives including C-Level.

My live one-on-one NLP-based Interview Coaching has ALWAYS gotten my clients at least one of the jobs they wanted, and ALWAYS more money than they were initially offered.  I have an extremely high-quality live coaching result record.

Because the things I've said and done in Interview Coaching have proven to help every one of my interview clients over time, I feel certain that my home-study customers who have upcoming interviews can also find at least some of these lessons valuable.

I have helped my direct coaching clients negotiate compensation packages ranging from $10K to $70K more per year than they had earned at previous jobs, plus more in future bonuses.  My interview coaching has proven to be worth tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars to my past clients.  I'm glad they were rewarded appropriately.  I charge a fair fee for coaching, and so far, my record is excellent.

Having amassed so much experience knowing how best to lead interviewees to do better in interviews, I collected more than six hours of this material, and packaged it succinctly into 8 audio modules (or CDs) called "Own the Interview," for your benefit.

No where else can future interviewees find this many hours of cutting edge NLP approaches to taking and acing interviews and other business meetings.  There are many articles out there that share brief tips on the topic, but no where near this level of breadth and depth on NLP for interviewing.

I'm confident you're going to LOVE at least some of this content.  There's no requirement that you even love all of it.  Any one of the suggestions in this program could make a huge difference in any job offer or salary quote you receive.

Here's what these thought leaders
think about "Own the Interview"

You won't be reading an endless series of customer reviews for this program.  And there are two exceptionally good reasons for this:

Business Owners and Executives looking at hiring you... if they knew what I put in this program... would NOT want you to have it.  They'd probably want to bury it.

Employees looking to get hired... after they listen to this program and use whats in it... would NOT want their employers to know they used it to get hired and get a far better offer than they otherwise would have.  You'd want to keep this program as your "secret weapon," so to speak.

So, I asked some other trainers, thought-leaders, and authors, to review "Own the Interview."  These people were not paid for these reviews in any way; they only received free review copies of the program, and a request to write "whatever you firmly believe about it."  In short, I'm relying on their integrity.

Jonathan's "Own the Interview" series is a must for anyone heading to an interview. He integrates NLP techniques deeply into his material, producing a uniquely powerful approach that prepares you for the substance of the interview AND the emotional, interpersonal aspects. And for those with NLP backgrounds, this CD set is a model for how to do applied NLP right.

Jonathan Altfeld has done it again. These CDs are enough information, techniques and suggestions for probably three or four instructional sets. Each CD is just filled with one gem after another. I've already recommended them to a coaching client of mine and I haven't even finished listening to them yet. Mastering these skills really would put you in the driver's seat of your own career.

You could certainly interview for jobs without learning how to “Own The Interview” – but I wouldn’t recommend it. That’s because I can almost guarantee it will cost you far more if you don’t invest in yourself – and this priceless program. Jonathan is an exceptional NLP trainer whose emphasis on quality and precision sets him apart from less proficient practitioners. From helping you to know your own value, communicate it masterfully and game plan every step of the way, “Own The Interview” teaches you how to get on the fast track to transforming your career – and that can also lead to huge changes in other aspects of your life.

You'll Want to Overcome These Concerns
Before You Ever Step Into an Interview:

Manage Your State

This is one of the first major concerns any interviewee has for any important business or job interview. You'll want to walk in with a good attitude, calm and confident in your own skin. Not nervous, or worried, or uncertain, or worrying about your first handshake which only makes your palms sweat more. And just as importantly as walking in the door in a better state of mind, you'll want and need to know that you can, in fact, weather any storm someone throws at you... even if you haven't yet taken weeks of great NLP training, such as our NLP Business Practitioner course.

I address this topic extensively in this program. Take a listen!

From CD1 (Mindset Pt. 1), Track 6 (on Helpful States of Mind):
1:16 length excerpt from 13:12 length track

Reconnecting With How Valuable You Are

Even in the best case interview scenario, you will likely experience a mix of (A) appreciation of the value you can bring, and (B) a downplaying of your intrinsic value, so they can negotiate the lowest possible salary that would enable you to accept their offer, and stay employed there.

This is, to put it mildly, a mix of recognition and toxic framing. You'll need to be well-prepared to accept their positive recognition, while politely ignoring any negative framing they wish you would accept. Here's a sample clip on this topic!

From CD2 (Mindset Pt. 2), Track 2 (You Radiate Value):
1:34 length excerpt from 12:48 length track

'What to Do' tips VS. 'How to Do better' Coaching

Most 'Interview Tips' books, blogs, and such give you checklists of what to do. That's fine, if you encounter those specific situations. And while I provide a couple of those checklists here and there, I'm more interested in coaching you on HOW to be well prepared for anything. So that you'll feel prepared to excel, no matter what you encounter.

From CD3 (Pre-Interview Strategies), Track 2 (First Steps):
1:54 length excerpt from 6:11 length track

Discovering Your True Power, Before You Accept Their Offer.

Many interviewees feel weak or in a needy place, mentally, when they go into an interview. I'd like to invert that. I want my clients walking into their interviews feeling, for the right reasons, that my clients have at least as much power over their interviewers, than the interviewers do over my clients.

Listen to this track, to get just a taste of how and why that is... and the directions I take in order to help listeners to deeply recognize that.

From CD4 (Interview Time Strategies), Track 6 (Compensation):
1:48 length excerpt from 13:50 length track

The Lure of Simplistic, Tricky Presupposition-Laden NLP Language Patterns.

That's CHEAP NLP. Opt for elegant, layered presuppositions instead. Yes. Its more work to get there, and it costs you more than reading a website, but it can mean the difference between doing parlor tricks that may bomb, and receiving an offer $50K or more higher than you expected.

You may have read about presuppositions in NLP books or other sources that suggest that you can easily bypass someone's conscious minds with presuppositions. This is a dangerous frame to use in professional business settings.

There is, unfortunately, a huge quantity of crappy NLP material out there. I would avoid all that trickery and junko logic (e.g., false dichotomies which sound awful to most people: "Would you like to learn this lesson today the easy way, or tomorrow the hard way?"). I favor far more elegant use of language patterns, presuppositions, and strategies. I expect you will, too...

From CD5 (Skilled Interviewing, Pt. 1), Track 3 (Presuppositions):
1:56 length excerpt from 11:04 length track

Here's your Conversational Remote Control. (Yes, seriously.)

Note: I would never suggest you can fully control anyone else's thoughts, or the outcome from an interview. But there are some aspects of interviews you can actually control, without the interviewer ever feeling like you're doing anything. Not mind control; I'm speaking more along the lines of flow control.

And after you learn this, why would you ever leave any of this to chance anymore?

From CD6 (Skilled Interviewing, Pt. 2), Track 1 (Controlling Conversational Flow):
1:17 length excerpt from 8:13 length track

Changing Your Understanding of Money

How you think about and respond to offers will vary significantly based on how you think about and have thought about money, in your life... up until now. If you caught the presupposition in that sentence, good! You're paying attention. My goal is to help you make you more money, for all the right reasons.

So! Towards that end, I spent a lot of time aiming to change each person's mindset around money, when they listen to this set. If you frame the concept of money optimally, before you go into an interview, then its more likely you'll stand up for your needs and your own expectations with more strength of character when it comes time to negotiate a salary or a deal.

From CD7 (Lets Talk Money Pt. 1), Track 1 (What is Money?):
1:39 length excerpt from 9:11 length track

Changing Your Understanding of Money

Finally you and your interviewer have already found mutual appreciation, you've found a synergy to join forces. They've told you they want you. You've told them you'd like to join them if the offer is right. And there is one final battle to wage. Negotiating the offer.

It is our belief that companies win this, 99% of the time, and get the better end of the deal every time they hire someone. My goal is for my clients to win this, 99% of the time, in a way where the company still wins, too.

This track discusses the WHY behind choosing never to be the first to mention a number, among other tips, and leads into my strategies for negotiating your final deal.

From CD8 (Lets Talk Money Pt. 2), Track 1 (Discussing Compensation):
3:05 length excerpt from 11:44 length track

Own the Interview: What to Expect?

I'm assuming you've listened to some sample tracks, in the section above, already. If not, go ahead and do so! Then, if you like, read my program table of contents outline, below.  I believe the content is both valuable and extraordinary, even if not every single track is 100% relevant for your unique situation or needs.

What will the program be worth?  What promises are made?  Read this carefully:

I make zero promises about specific results to expect.  The FTC frowns on promising specific gains unless every documented customer has achieved those specific gains, and this is a relatively new audio program where customers are disincentivized from sharing their results publically (which is why my testimonials are from noteworthy NLP trainers, etc!).  I can't guarantee you'll get any specific raise, or that your compensation package will necessarily be any better than you'd get on your own, or even that you'll get a specific job offer.

You can only expect to receive new, cutting-edge educational material that may help you to approach interviews very differently.

Also, my home-study audio program buyers should not expect the same results as my one-on-one clients.  The program is authored for a variety of backgrounds and interview contexts.  Compared with other customers, you may have more or less skills to begin with, or more emotional state management work to do, than others, to get to a place where you could own every interview.  And I know some customers listen more actively than others.  Background listeners will likely not get as strong results as active listeners.  But, my home study course is designed to help anyone gain a fast-track to better results.  It's a form of packaged coaching experience.

Will it be worth the highest annual salary offer I've ever helped someone achieve ($245,000 plus bonuses and stock)?  Possibly for the rare interviewee.  But of course I can't charge that.

Will it be worth the highest annual salary RAISE I've ever helped someone achieve ($70,000)?  Maybe, for a select few.  And I really can't charge that for everyone.

Will it be worth the lowest annual salary raise I've ever helped someone achieve ($10,000)?  Maybe.  And I still can't charge that for every buyer or guarantee that sort of result.

Will a little more than six hours of my material be worth at least the equivalent of six hours of private coaching with me ($1,800)?  Probably quite a bit more than that IF it leads to a great job offer.  But I can't guarantee it.  And I also don't have any audio-program customer testimonials to share yet on this.

"Own the Interview" is available as
a full set, or as 4 partial sets!

Though I can't make any guarantees, I know that IF you apply even a small handful of the many tips and insights I share in this set, they will likely increase the chances of you having a fabulous interview, that could result in a great job offer.  So of course its appropriate to charge a fair price for years of experience and knowledge about using NLP in interviewing, distilled down to just over 6 hours (over the course of 8 CDs or MP3 modules) of home-study coaching.

The investment is less than 20% of my current 2018 live coaching rate for that same amount of coaching. $297.

Alternatively, you can purchase (only as downloadable MP3 programs) CDs 1 & 2 as "Set A", CDs 3 & 4 as "Set B", CDs 5 & 6 as "Set C", and CDs 7 & 8 as "Set D." Each of these sets is available at $79., AND, you can even apply ALL of that amount towards getting the full set, later on (once the quality and value of the set convinces you)!

I also recognize that my experience and effort means nothing to you, unless it translates to clear value in one form or another.  Which is why, as always, I extend my 'great choice guarantee.'

I always offer an unconditional
one-year money-back guarantee.

Unless my material ends up delivering value to you, I won't have earned your investment.

As a result, if you buy my program, study it well, go on interviews, and don't get any measurable value in your communication skills, strategies, insights and/or results, contact me to request a refund of the cost of your purchase.

That said, I don't think you'd ever want to.  I think that I'm far more likely to receive an email from you, sharing your excitement over an outrageously successful interview and an impressive job offer and compensation package, to boot.  Or perhaps you'll tell me this helped you in some secondary way, like, improving your relationship with your spouse or helped you become a better interviewer for podcasts, or helped you negotiate partnerships or joint venture contracts.

I also recognize that soft skills have a way of improving a lot more than just the primary intended context, so you could end up experiencing improved relationships in other contexts, and that has clear value as well.  Value and results can arise in a variety of ways.

Review my more detailed product refund policy here; I offer customers a 1-time-only customer satisfaction guarantee of up to $375, which frees you from any risk, and also prevents abuse of the policy.

Our RISK-FREE GUARANTEE!

If you're not 100% satisfied that this audio program has delivered more than its cost in value to you, by preparing you well for important interviews, then just return it ANYTIME WITHIN ONE FULL YEAR, and we'll refund EVERY CENT of your purchase price.

When should most interviewees buy?

My recommendation is ... at least a month before any interviews.  A month is more than enough time to go through this program, and, if any of my material inspires you to study any other specific communication skill in more detail, either from me or from other sources, you'll still have a bit of time remaining to explore that too before your interview.  So at least one month prior, is ideal., from my perspective.

But people rarely have a full month to prepare for an interview once they're offered one.  So don't wait until you're offered an interview.

Instead, I would say... any of these moments are ideal moments to buy a set like this:

  • The moment you KNOW you're looking for work.
  • The moment you know you're considering a career change.
  • The moment you start looking at job listings.
  • The moment you ask your connections about other opportunities.

At any of the above moments, I'd recommend you get this program ASAP.

Or if you know of a college junior or senior, or graduate student, any time would be optimal.  They already have a lot to study, so they'll need ample advance time in their schedule to devote a little time each week to this program.  Plus, their junior Summer or their graduation is never far off, and they may attend interviews even before they've graduated.  What a gift this would be!  I think back to my own college graduation, and wish I'd had something like this at the time when I was interviewing for first jobs.  My interviewers wouldn't have known what hit them!

Commercial distribution or "loaners"
expressly forbidden. Headhunters
must buy a site license.

This program is being offered to solo consumers directly for their own personal use in acquiring a better job, and a better deal.

If a placement professional buys a copy, and provides it to anyone else without my permission, that would constitute an unauthorized commercial use of this program.  I consider that an enormous copyright violation, and a violation of my terms of sale, and will prosecute that.

But I would happily welcome their valued business -- once we negotiate a site license.  Contact me at ++1 813-991-8888 for more information.
